GUIDED TOURS FOR SCHOOLS
DISCOVER AND LEARN - WELCOME TO THE MAO, MUSEUM OF ORIENTAL ARTThe guided tour service by highly qualified personnel is available for schools of all levels.
Guided tours allow pupils to take a journey to Asia through the museum's five galleries dedicated to South Asia and South East Asia, China and Japan, the Himalayan Region and the Islamic Countries of Asia. This particular feature of the museum allows teachers to personalize their visit itinerary, identifying the topics of interest to them, or choosing to carry out the journey throughout the entire museum by selecting the most salient works. The youngest visitors will be accompanied in the discovery of the works through a common thread, for example by searching for depictions of animals, such as cranes, carp, dragons, dogs, horses and camels, or by identifying the different materials with which the artefacts are made: metal, terracotta, stone or wood. Older ones are offered thematic themes aimed at examining some religious aspects, such as the life of the historical Buddha and the diffusion of Buddhist doctrine in the East, identifying the stylistic and iconographic differences of the representation of the Buddha in the works on display.
Teachers can plan their visit to the museum, in Italian or in another language, choosing through the following times and rates:
italian and foreign language 1h € 75, 90min € 90, 2h € 110.
Our staff is available to study tailor-made courses that allow schools to integrate and delve deeper into topics developed in the classroom.
