The
MiniMAO Kids Podcast
project is the result of a collaboration between MAO – Museum of Oriental Art, GAM – Civic Gallery of Modern Art, and the Scuola Holden of Turin. The cooperation between these three institutions has produced new content, in podcast and vodcast versions, which makes a selected group of works from the two museums’ permanent collections more accessible and inclusive, through a fresh and unconventional narrative approach that offers visitors new visions and interpretations, expanding the possibilities for discovering and deepening the meaning of the collections and opening up to different audiences, combining the curatorial expertise of museums and the narrative approach of Scuola Holden.
At MAO, five students from the School created the
MiniMAO Kids Podcast
, a series of podcast designed to take young visitors on a journey through the stories, characters and worlds contained within Asian art. Among these, the dancing Ganesha, the Shokannon statue, the bodhisattva of compassion, and the mosque lamp are told in such a way as to make their stories relevant and familiar to young visitors, offered to them through accessible and entertaining reading tools.
The podcasts are freely accessible in the museum and online, and are also available at
MAOapp
, the museum’s webapp.
