The zhenmushou is crouched in a rigid frontal posture. It has a human head with large ears and a high horn, lateral fins grafted vertically onto the shoulders. The oblong face has Western features that stand out in black and red on a pink background, with bloodshot eyes, long eyelashes, thick, furrowed eyebrows, a goatie with a very long moustache and sideburns. The top of the head narrows into a tall, wavy conical horn; the ears are large, fan-shaped, and tripartite. The head rests on a disproportionately long neck. The creature's belly is flat, its front legs slightly spread apart and end in a bovine hoof. Unlike most small zhenmushou, this specimen also has hoof-shaped hind legs. Particularly interesting is the painted decoration on the trunk of the body and the wings, consisting of lobed volutes in light green and turquoise with a red edge.
