Description
The originality of this vase lies in the conical shape of the lid, simulating three circles of mountain peaks and culminating in the all-round figurine of an “immortal” of Taoist tradition, with hybrid human-bird characteristics. The body of the vase is divided into two large bands and has two pushou masks with thick mobile rings at the top, diametrically opposite. The two bands are decorated with incisions of curvilinear motifs (archs or stylized flowers) repeated in three rows and delimited by three series of horizontal lozenges and, at the lower end, by a series of acute triangles with the vertex facing upwards. The vase rests on three figured feet. The feet, handles and figure are applied.
