Description
Statue of Buddha seated in
padmasana
, with his hands brought in front of his chest: the fingers of his right hand cover the folded ones of his left and both index fingers of are joint at the top. The body appears well proportioned, with tapered hands and feet. The head is imposing, with a hairstyle of thick spiral curls that seamlessly cover even the
ushnisha
(
rouji
in Chinese). The circular cavity in the center of the forehead must have originally housed the urn's jewel.
