Beige earthenware, green-yellow glaze
Inventory
Cc/75.D
Dimensions
32,1 x 15,2 cm
Definition
Funerary model
Collection
China
Additional Infos
Provenance: Henan - Shanxi - Shaanxi
Description
The model is composed of a circular parapet with a pulley structure surmounted by a pitched roof. The roof tiles are distinctive, but the housing for the pulley is not. The two ends of the horizontal beam are shaped like dragon heads whose jaws have incisive teeth instead of the more common sharp fangs. On the edge of the well - in corrispondence with a small modeling defect - an amphora is applied. The parapet has a slightly curved profile, wider at the base and upwards: probably shaped on a lathe, as suggest by the shape and by the circular lnes visible on the flat bottom. The object is inconsistently covered by an iridescent glaze.
