c. 2500-2300 BCE
Orange earthenware; ochre, black and red decoration
Cn/1
32,8 x 32,2 x 12,7-13 cm

This vase, presenting as a globular ollam, has irregular walls and the shape and decoration typical of Banshan pottery. Two eye loops are applied below the maximum diameter of the vessel. The main ornament consists of four equidistant and repeated spiral motifs, connected in a single decorative band. The center of these volutes is located high on the shoulder of the vase: a black circle with a dotted outer circle; a second circle painted in red continues in a broad volute downwards and then rises and connects to the following red circle. These red main lines, probably painted first, are surrounded by typical Banshan decorations and underlined by broad black bands.
