Description
This
gui
has the typical characteristics of the final stage of the Dawenkou production and the beginnings of the Longshan culture. Three mammelliform feet are applied to the broad, flattened body: two in front and the third, larger one, behind. A raised string line runs around the vessel under the shoulder, and joins behind it with the lower end of the loop. A distinctive feature of this
gui
is that the neck is higher than the rest of the briquette and is moved forward above the front feet. It has a tubular shape, expanded towards the bipartite edge: at the back it flattens into a broad round lip, at the front it continues with a long, narrow, pointed spout, facing upwards. A relief diskette was applied as a decorative element to the shoulder of the vessel.
