Description
Axe-dagger head with curved triangular blade, connected to a tang considerably narrower than the heel. The blade has a double beveled edge and a rounded tip; a relief decoration occupies a triangular sector in the part closest to the heel. The design, the same on both faces, can be divided into two registers: the lower one has a slight central rib which ends at the top with a small occluded circle; on the sides there are geometric motifs with square spirals. The upper register instead shows two almond-shaped eyes surmounted by two schematic characters placed one in front of the other, on the sides of a central oblong motif which appears as the continuation of the central rib. On each face of the tang, which is not perfectly aligned with the blade, a mask with large almond-shaped eyes pulled upwards is depicted. The extremity is hollowed out to form two semicircles that underline the upper profile of the eyes.
