The two pieces of harness consist of a metal plate in the shape of a trapezoid, with a larger base forming a wide curve that expands the object significantly towards its side. Along the curved part, the metal sheet bends to form a shoulder pad more than a centimeter high. Only the exterior of the plaque and its border are decorated, the interior is smooth but unworked. The main decoration consists of three rows of thick “S” shaped square scrolls following the profile of the harness along its wavy edge: each motif is half covered with gold leaf and the other half with silver leaf. Thin inlaid gold and silver threads run across the surface at the inner edge and between the scrolls. The shoulder strap has other engraved motifs, only partially gilded or silvered.
