Provenance: Shaanxi (o Henan?)
The young woman, the only dancer in a group of five players, is depicted standing while taking a dance step and drawing in the air the slow gestures of her arms with the long sleeves of her dress. Her body is tilted to the right, her knees bent, and her right leg appears to be about to rise or fall. The young woman has a delicate oval face, made up of pink bellet on her cheeks and red on her mouth. A floral pattern (huadian) with spaced scrolls is drawn in red on the forehead. The hair, black, is parted in the center and is combed in a double croaked hairstyle (shuangji). The dancer wears a fitted red bodice with a deep neckline, a high light band tight at the waist and a full two-layer skirt. At her feet she wears large shoes with an upturned fan toe.
