Description
On the outside, the thickly brushed black decoration is limited to a pattern of four festoons along the hem. The main decoration covers the entire internal surface of the vessel with an elaborate play of pictorial fluidity between empty and full. A large painted circle, inside of which have been created four circles with a central solid circle, occupies the bottom of the cup. From this three arms sinuously start to the left and connect to a series of ellipses, placed at regular intervals along the edge, each decorated at the top with three vertical stripes. Analogous arms, consisting of alternating solid and empty lines, join the ellipses to each other along the edge and diagonally. The curved triangular spaces that are defined by the arms are painted in solid colors.
