Cc/80
25,6 x 8,6 cm
Funerary statuette
Provenance: Shaanxi-Henan
Standing statue of a lady or court maid with a slender figure, with her right hand resting on her belly and her left hand folded over her chest: a soft pouch falls from her forearm onto her left hip. She has a tall bun hairstyle that develops into a wide wing on the right side of her head (banfanji). She wears a long dress with narrow sleeves, a deep neckline, a high waist, tied at the hips by a long ribbon belt with a wide knot at the front. Above the tunic, which was originally painted red, she wears a half-sleeved (banbi) vest with brown residue. Other traces of cold pigments can be seen on the hairstyle (grey) and as an underlining of the facial features.
