CORK (?)
c. 3000-2500 BCE
Grey earthenware, beige slip
Cb/28
11,6 x 10,6-11,3 x 9,4-9,9 cm
cork?
It is a heavy hollow object, closed at the flat, circular base. It has a pointed bulbous shape, expanded at the top: here, on one side, a protuberance forms the background to the sketchy features of a human face. The eyes and mouth are made of openwork with elongated slits, the small nose is shaped in relief, fine brush traces are visible on the face. The function of this object remains uncertain. Since its diameter corresponds to the average diameter of the opening of the jars, it is hypothesized that it could have been a cork.
