Description
Vase with an ellipsoidal and flattened body, a curved base without a foot, a short straight neck with an everted rim and a thickened lip. The piece was painted uniformly with a grey-brown background before firing – the parallel streaks that characterise this type of processing are still clearly visible over the entire surface of the container. Then the figures of a bull on one face and a warrior on the other were added with a brush, framed by large cloud scrolls and other decorative elements. The drawing was made with yellow and white pigment, perhaps also pink, and detailed with black lines done later.
