The rattles are set on a high hollow trapezoidal support, with a square section. Used as a sleeve, it was fixed to a rod by means of four ankles inserted into the circular holes that open at the base of each side. A square-section rod starts in the middle of the upper side, connecting the sleeve to the rattle. The front half of the rattle is perforated with small triangles converging towards a central hole; the rear half, however, is full and smooth, and has only a small hole in the centre. The structure of the rattles holds inside a marble stone that makes the pleasant ringing sound when it hits the internal walls. The six elements, of various sizes, can be placed on a scale and are made according to the same model; the smaller ones emit the highest tones. The rattles were fixed to the yoke in groups of two or three.
