Description
This slender polished chalice has very thin walls, an everted rim and a pot-bellied bottom. It rests on a very tall, tubular stem, with a bulbous bulge at the bottom that closes into a thin cylinder. This, smaller in diameter than the top of the stem, rests on a domed foot. The cup and foot are smooth; the stem is decorated on the lathe with very fine parallel engraved lines. The decoration is completed, in the lower part, by small openwork motifs in the shape of circles and petals, the contours of which were first engraved.
