Statue of Bodhisattva
The Bodhisattva sits in lalitasana on a quadrangular seat with a platform, which may not have been its original support. The feet are stocky, the hands long and slender. The right leg is folded next to the body with the sole of the foot resting on the seat, the left falls vertically with the foot on the platform; the right arm rests relaxed on the knee of the corresponding leg, with the hand elegantly holding a pearl between the thumb and middle finger; the other arm is extended alongside the body, the hand resting on a book placed on the base. The head is crowned by a diadem, decorated in the central part with an elaborate floral decoration. Hair and beard are black in color and are the only non-gold parts of the figurine.
