Description
Axe head with a triangular mount with rounded corners and an opening with straight, irregular edges. The body of the axe head is completely flat on one face and domed towards the triangular mount. The domed face slopes towards the blade, seamlessly connected to the mount. The upper flat part present a decoration traced during the casting procedure, and which is now partially erased. A horse's head can still be seen in profile: its eyes, ears and mane are clearly visible. Further down, the decoration continues with two parallel lines that depict the animal's left forelimb. Once assembled, this object probably had to be fixed horizontally on the handle and have the wire parallel to the ground: this is the only position that makes the engraved pattern visible.
